From the Desk of the Rector, Visvodaya – Dodla Vinaya Kumar Reddy

Dr. Dodla Ramachandra Reddy (Founder, Visvodaya)

Dr. Dodla Ramachandra Reddy, a young graduate of 20 years, after completing his Intermediate Education at Loyola College and Bachelor’s Degree at Pachaiyappa’s College, Madras (Chennai), established Kavali College in 1951, which was rechristened Jawahar Bharati College in 1965 by the then Vice President of India, Zakir Hussain. The college was named after Jawaharlal Nehru (1889 -1964), the first Prime Minister of Independent India.

The prime objective that motivated and drove him to establish an educational institution was his firm belief that imparting education to the needy and underprivileged is the only weapon that can drive away poverty and alleviate the ills of the society.

It is a testimony to his vision and compassion that, even after 72 years of glorious existence, the Visvodaya Society, which houses all the below mentioned institutions, continues to follow the ideals of its founder.

2. PHR Jawahar Bharati Junior College
3. Dr. LKR Visvodaya Boys High School
4. SSC Visvodaya Girls High School
5. PBR Visvodaya Institution of Technology and Science
6. Visvodaya Engineering College
7. Jawahar Bharathi Institute of Medical Sciences (Introduced in 2023)

He envisioned the establishment of a 'Health Service Branch' on Visvodaya Campus way back in 1952, and it was promptly incorporated in the ‘Memorandum of Association’ of the Visvodaya Constitution.

His vision of the Health Service Branch became a reality when the MPHW (Multipurpose Health Worker) course was introduced at the intermediate level about 25 years ago. Now, his dream is widening further with the introduction of B.Sc. Nursing, and more health care courses are in the pipeline.

Sri Lingireddy Nageswara Reddy (Industrialist and Philanthropist)

No words of appreciation and gratitude are enough to describe the contribution of Sri Lingireddy Nageswara Reddy, an industrialist and benevolent philanthropist whose untiring efforts and constant encouragement throughout, came to fruition when we established the Jawahar Bharati Institution of Medical Sciences in the year 2023–2024. He is the prime reason that this institution came to life, and if it weren't for him, our dream of medical branches in Visvodaya would have remained a distant dream. The whole of Visvodaya salutes him for his selfless service and compassionate act

My message will not be complete if I don’t mention the contribution of the staff and management of Visvodaya especially Dr. M.V. Bhaskar Reddy (Former HOD Chemistry) and Dr. R. Malyadhri (P.D. and Campus Director) in this endeavor.
